Do you know the legend of Moni Mekhala? Robam Moni Mekhala (in Khmer: របាំមណីមេខលា) is a rain dance inspired by the Cambodian myth of thunder, lightning, and rain, drawing from both Hindu and Buddhist mythology. The dance often portrays the dramatic clash between Reamesor and Moni Mekhala, as Reamesor strives to claim the magical crystal ball from Moni Mekhala, their conflict unleashing a tempestuous storm.

The concept of Mekhala restaurant was developed by the Anjali by Siphon Hotel, offering a fine dining experience in Siem Reap. We supported the launch by producing a logo, laser cut illustrations and oil paintings reflecting this ancient khmer legend and the sophisticated environment offered by the restaurant.
