The short film we produced for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Cambodia is meant to protect children from hazardous tasks in small scale fisheries. It takes a delicate look at the sensitive issue of child labor. Defining what it is also shows what it is not. Poverty bites the tail here to a problem that seems insoluble. However, even in animation, it is not so simple to tell that story without wanting to make anyone feel guilty. We rather wanted to invite through imagination to define the border where the exploitation of children begins and stops. This story is above all that of a child who fights to survive with his family, and it is surely too commonplace, even today.

FAO Cambodia has commissioned a series of films and illustrations to provide tools for educational workshops and the recognition of a traditional environment in full upheaval in Cambodia.
