Every year, millions of tons of waste end up in the oceans, carried away by the river streams. In Cambodia, plastic waste is often mixed with organic waste, buried, burned or littered; it is toxic and represents a serious risk for the environment and public health. An issue that the authorities of Kratie City decided to tackle. This beautiful haven of peace bordering the Mekong river has a lot to offer tourists; yet, waste pollution prevents it from reaching its full potential as a tourist destination, and threatens one of its greatest treasures: the endangered river dolphins.
The time to act is now! Will Kratie and Cambodian citizens become agents of change? Will we all start reducing our waste, disposing of it properly and recycling whenever possible? It starts with YOU!
This Behavior Change Communication Campaign was produced for our clients The Asia Foundation and GIZ.
